I'm supposed to be all pumped up to go see Rambo re done, played by a man who is older than the page assignment he got in the back of the recent Time magazine, about fictitious hostages in Burma (which he decided on after reading his Soldier of Fortune Magazine?) Really? Really Really?<br /><br /><br /><br />Sly has stated that he opposes the Iraq war, the article states that Sly is galled by Bush's stance on the war and tough talk, he is quoted saying "You see Bush, and you see the obstinacy and arrogance..." however he has no problem causing conflict while making a movie that is supposed to be "anti-war" in its over all message, if you are wondering what I mean by this keep reading...<br /><br /><br /><br />Stallone says that he was told by officials of the Burmese government "The film will not be made. If it is people will be killed" all the while continuing to try encourage and cast Burmese citizens. Sly of course was able to borrow an armored vehicle from a Prince to travel to and fro.<br /><br /><br /><br />So I'm just wondering, If you are "anti-war" and have the resources to make a big screen movie and have the star power to attract at least a fair amount of people, why not make it about something a little more relevant like Oh i don't know...the Iraq War (not dismissing the Burmese situation but its not really affecting my day to day life at the moment and killing my soldiers and economy). At least the only fall out would be bad press from pro war juggernauts and not actual lives of citizens he will never see again.<br /><br /><br /><br />Oh and my favorite quote from the article..."In a film like Rambo, the more he speaks, the less interesting he is.
